A Lady in Defiance — The Novel

The debut novel from Heather Blanton a best-seller!

Isn't it so easy to defy God and shake your fist at him when he doesn't do what we THINK he shoul do?
…It’s his town and he dares God to step foot in it.
Charles McIntyre owns everything and everyone in the lawless, godless mining town of Defiance. When three good, Christian sisters from his beloved South show up stranded, alone, and offering to open a “nice” hotel, he is intrigued enough to let them stay…especially since he sees feisty middle sister Naomi as a possible conquest. But Naomi, angry with God for widowing her, wants no part of Defiance or the saloon-owning, prostitute-keeping Mr. McIntyre. It would seem however, that God has gone to elaborate lengths to bring them together. The question is, “Why?” Does God really have a plan for each and every life?

For the rebellious residents of this remote mountain town, the answer will surely be astounding.

A Lady in Defiance, loosely based on true events, is set in the majestic San Juan Mountains of Colorado and it’s written with gritty, but not gratuitous, realism uncharacteristic of the historical Christian fiction genre. The book gives a nod to both Pride and Prejudice and Redeeming Love, but is an “ensemble” piece that deftly weaves together the relationships of the three sisters and the rowdy residents of Defiance.

I so hope there is a book 3 in the Romance in the Rockies Series. I must find out how Naomi handles Charles’ Indian son. Is there going to be a book 3. You are a very talented writer. Your stories are romantic, exciting and keep me on the edge of my seat

    • Deborah, I can’t tell you how it makes me want to tear up when I rec’v an email like this. I’ve wanted to write novels all my life, but it was God’s plan for me to wait a bit. I finally finished A Lady in Defiance in 2012. And since then I’ve written Hearts in Defiance, In Time for Christmas — oh, yeah, and the screenplay for A Lady in Defiance! I get to do what I enjoy, hopefully bless you, and bring glroy to my Lord — and I’ll be 50 in February. I tell everyone I know, if you have a dream, chase it. But give the timing to God. Thank you for reading, Deborah, and I hope to hear from you again! Oh, if you get a moment, would you leave me a review on Amazon? I sure would appreciate it! Blessings!

Are you indeed working on book 3 of Romance in the Rockies?

    • Hey, Jan! Thanks for reading and commenting. I am indeed working on Book 3. I will let you in on a little secret: a preacher is coming to Defiance … and he means business. He can take care of business, too. I am excited about the story line of Charles, Naomi and Two Spears, as well. What challenges and opportunities I see for these 3! Thank you again for reading. When you have a sec, would you leave me a review on Amazon? I truly would appreciate it. Thank you again and Blessings!
